We are so in love with our little girl. I can't believe she's been here a week! We are all doing really well and heading to the beach next week. I'll try to update soon on my 38 week pregnancy post and birth story. For now, can we just take in all that dark hair?!

Full term!!!

Photo thoughts:
I still have room (even when sitting) at the top of my abdomen. I wish I had gotten a haircut, but I was planning it for the week that my boys got sick. Now I've decided just to wait. Long hair helps hide puffy face anyway, right?

Pregnancy symptoms:
Terrible back pain Monday that I'm so glad went away. I couldn't do anything except sit on the couch with my heating pad. I think it was a combination of side sleeping, baby position, and that my back needed to pop. I managed to pop my back Tuesday and the pain instantly got better. It's not 100% but I can function like a normal person. Let's see... other than that, some heartburn, excitement about being term, ready to know what we're having, nesting some, and noticed some swelling this week. There was one morning that I woke up puffy faced and then I couldn't put my rings on. I made sure to increase my fluids and the swelling got better. I'm wearing my rings again!

Okay, bonus picture! I snapped this before my walk Monday. I wanted to enjoy some fresh air before the rain hit!

37 weeks, 1 day and Patrick working on a little project behind me:)
Boy or girl:
Everybody, including my patients, keep telling me it's a girl. I think it's to the point now that I'm going to be more surprised if this baby pops out with a package than without. I seriously don't care either way, but I'm ready to know!

Food cravings:
Hmm... I ate normal this week.

Best moment of the week:
So much.... Can't choose just one! It started off Sunday with surprise gifts from church youth for baby. It was unexpected and so sweet. We mostly received diapers, wipes, baby wash, and other necessities. It was all perfect.

My OB appointment went well. My blood pressure was up a little from my normal baseline, but not bad. However, I drank a lot of coffee prior to my appointment (like I could feel my heart racing) and I was talking to the nurse while she took my pressure. It was kind of exciting to talk about delivery with my doctor. Can't believe we're getting so close!

Saturday, my sweet coworkers and friends threw me a baby shower while at work. It was perfect and I'm so grateful to them especially since I haven't been back on days very long or even working that much. There is also something about having diapers and wipes in the closet that makes me feel ready.

Looking forward to:
Actually, I'm kind of enjoying the anticipation of being full term. I never got to experience this with Owen since he came early. It caught us off guard. I never had the thought, "Could today be the day?" Patrick said people ask him multiple times a day if we have a baby yet. He said it's fun to respond with, "Nope, any day now!"

36 weeks

February 28, 2015

What a week. It started off Sunday by waking up to find that Owen had thrown up at some point in the middle of the night and then proceeded to sleep in it. It was nasty. I was hoping it was an isolated event and that maybe he had just gotten choked. However, he threw up 4 more times throughout the day. If that wasn't enough, Patrick returned home Sunday afternoon and wasn't feeling well either. He ended up staying up most of the night, was in bed sick for two days, and Owen continued with his puny self until Tuesday night.

Photo thoughts:
Baby has grown but I still think it's smaller and lower than Owen. Funny how babies can house the uterus differently. I know this one is probably more in front because my muscles have been stretched out before.

Pregnancy symptoms:
Luckily, I was pretty symptom free this week except for some lower back pain first thing in the morning and the usual heartburn. I'm so ready to sleep on my back again. My pregnant hips don't like the side sleeping very much these days.

Boy or girl:
We made progress on the boy name this week. Maybe it'll be a boy?

Cravings:
Since I had two sick boys at the house this week I ended up eating a lot of easy foods from the pantry. I wasn't going to cook for just me. I ended up eating soup, crackers, and peanut butter sandwiches. You would think that I was sick too! I'm so incredibly thankful that the Lord protected me from getting sick.

Best moment of the week:
The fact that I didn't get sick really is a miracle. I know it's gross to talk about but Owen literally threw up on me Sunday night. We both had to completely change clothes. I thought for sure I was next. I also worked Friday and Saturday this week and both shifts went really well. I was very thankful that my boys managed to get well enough to manage without me and that I didn't contract too much at work.

Looking forward to:
Having a healthy house again, getting it cleaned up (even though I did more loads of laundry this week than ever), and making it to full term. I have a good feeling this baby is going to hang out longer than it's brother.

35 weeks

February 21, 2015

Photo thoughts:
Yep. I'm in my PJ's. Really outgrowing my T-shirts. I might have to dig through Patricks shirts soon.

Pregnancy symptoms:
Still having a hard time staying asleep but I enlisted the help of Benadryl and seem to be doing a little better.

Boy or girl:
Ugh... Ready to find out! It sure would make the naming process easier! We have no idea what we will name this sweet baby.

Cravings:
Besides the extra bowl of cereal here and there, I'm not craving anything odd. My appetite is back which is probably to help this baby pack on some pounds during the home stretch of this pregnancy.

Best moment of the week:
My doctor came prancing into my appointment cheering, "35 weeks! No NICU stay for this baby!" It makes me happy that she recognizes how thankful I am that I'm not contracting and cruising through this pregnancy totally differently. Also, I gained almost 3 pounds! I can feel it too. This baby is growing in there.

Looking forward to:
Patrick getting home and not having to work Thursday.

34 weeks

February 14, 2015

Photo thoughts:
These pictures are starting to make me frustrated that the new home for our laundry basket seems to be in our bedroom next to the dresser...Anyone else noticed that? haha. Going to make an effort to put it away.

Pregnancy symptoms:
Terrible sleep and a terrible appetite this week. Nothing sounded good so I've been digging into the cereal (like 2-3 times a day).

Boy or girl:
It's still easy for me to imagine a boy but kind of exciting to think that I could be totally wrong.

Cravings:
Cereal with cold milk anytime of day.

Best moment of the week:
Hanging out with this boy. We picked up balloons for the Girls Be My Valentine Party at the youth house on Friday. He thought it was fun to play with the balloons at first, but then he wanted them out of the car and couldn't understand why I didn't remove them immediately. Such a funny kid.

I'm really soaking up these last few days of him being my one and only. Also, bonus bump pic!

No laundry basket! Score!

Looking forward to:
Hmm... I'm not really looking forward to Patrick leaving me next weekend, but I am excited about being so close to 35 weeks. It means that if baby were to come that we wouldn't be required to have a stay in the NICU.

33 weeks

February 7, 2015

I'm having to play catch up. I've been a terrible blogger lately. Forgive me while I go back in time for a moment. Let's see... This week was busy. Everything (as in our normal weekly activities) was in full swing plus I added breakfast with a friend Monday, a birthday party for Patrick's grandmother, work Thursday (which I haven't been doing), and a doctors appointment.

Photo thoughts:
I don't think I look as big as I feel at times. Also, this bump seems so low. Is it just me?

Pregnancy symptoms:
I've been feeling really good. My energy level is good until we put Owen to bed and then I follow shortly after. It's hard to stay up past 9pm. Sad- I know. However, I'm still waking up in the middle of the night so I think that's part of the reason I'm requiring an early bedtime.

Boy or girl:
A couple of ladies that I work with did the necklace test where you put a charm on the end of a necklace and hold it over the moms belly to see which way it swings. I'm not really sure what the official name for this type of test is, but they both said that it's a girl. Lol.

Food cravings:
Nothing specific. However, I had this major craving for french fries when I left work Thursday. Patrick stopped by Publix on his way home from eating dinner and fixed me some when I got home. I married a good man.

Best moment of the week:
I had a good doctors appointment Friday. Baby and I are healthy and I have no complaints. I haven't gained any weight since my 28 week appointment (January 8th) which is odd, but baby is still growing on track so it appears to be getting exactly what it needs. My doctor mentioned it just to make sure I wasn't sick or anything. I assured her that I eat plenty! I'm sure there will be a different story in two weeks. I remember packing on the pounds at the very end with Owen.
